2018 is a big year for randd uk, leading R&D tax credits experts based in Derby. During the past 10 years, randd uk have claimed over £91million (so far!) for businesses across the UK who carry out eligible research and development. With a 100% success rate, randd uk have filed over 1,700 claims since inception with an average first claim of over £50,000. To celebrate 10 years of rewarding innovation, randd uk fundraised £1,400 which was split evenly between local charity, The Faith, Hope & Enterprise, and the Mayor of Derby’s charities.
The Faith, Hope & Enterprise (FHE) is a Derbyshire-based charity who provide support, accommodation, mentoring and social events for vulnerable, excluded adults. Kevin Gill, Chief Executive of the charity said, “We house vulnerable adults including people with mental illness, learning disabilities and those who are overcoming addiction or reoffending behaviour. We try and provide them with security through stable accommodation, support and counselling.”
FHE is carrying out fantastic work that actively makes a positive impact on lives. Residents such as Lizzie said that “Faith, Hope & Enterprise gave me an incredible platform to start rebuilding my life.” She is not alone, as Matthew explained, “I deal with situations much better than I used to” and Geordie “became alcohol free and moved into [his] own independent accommodation.”
To build self-esteem, form friendships and make memories, FHE organised a trip to Team Sport Karting in Nottingham with randd uk’s fundraising: “since the money had been raised in such an adventurous way, we would spend it on a little adventure of our own.” Video footage can be seen here from the day which was enjoyed by the residents. FHE are extremely grateful to the staff at randd uk and the generous sponsors that have enabled this day to happen. We would strongly encourage everyone to donate to this worthy cause. The Mayor of the City of Derby is Councillor Mike Carr for 2018/19. His chosen charities are Cure Leukaemia, Macmillan Cancer Support and ChildLine and the money raised for these organisations will be distributed at the end of the Mayor’s term. The Mayor opened randd uk’s charity business fundraiser in July at The Old Bell Hotel on Sadler Gate in Derby. This event included a buffet, live music from rock / folk band Treebeard, and a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses. Derby LIVE gifted two tickets for the 2018 Jack & the Beanstalk pantomime (Derby Arena) and other prizes included donations from Patisserie Valerie, Article Clothing, Just-Ice and Cake Décor.
Pictured above, the Mayor of Derby pulled the first pint of RANDD Pale Ale at the Old Bell Hotel with Directors Brendan Molloy & Mick Keyse. This is one of the five venues that supplied randd uk’s anniversary real ale in June across Derby town centre. The Exeter Arms, The Smithfield, The Hairy Dog, and The Dog & Moon also purchased casks with 10% donated to charity. Based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, Chantry Brewery brewed and distributed RANDD Pale Ale in casks and 500ml bottles which were available at the charity business fundraiser. The brewery also generously donated a raffle prize worth £200; entry into the New York Stadium (Rotherham Football ground) for two guests for the Derby County match.
To raise money for charity, three brave randd uk team members jumped out of an aeroplane 14,000 feet above Nottingham at Skydive Langar. Don’t worry, they each had a parachute and a tandem instructor so there are still plenty of staff to file your R&D tax credits claims. The team also ran the 10K Wollaton Park race in Nottingham to fundraise for charity.
randd uk would like to thank clients for their generous donations as well as the team, friends & family. The charitable support has enabled the Faith, Hope & Enterprise and the Mayor of Derby’s charities to grow. We also help both local and nationwide businesses to grow through rewarding innovation with R&D tax credits. This scheme is an incentive to boost the UK economy through R&D cash awards and tax saving benefits. randd uk optimise claim sizes with minimal effort required by clients and find it takes a quick chat to dispel any concerns about the scheme.
