As likely as Sam Warburton attending the Parliamentary Review gala… TWICE!

On Wednesday 27th March 2019, randd uk representatives attended the Parliamentary Review gala hosted on the terrace of the Palace of Westminster. Finance Director, Matt Timby FCCA and Head of Marketing, Sam Warburton CIM (affiliate) strolled the halls of this historic building within hours of the Prime Minister Theresa May first announcing her departure plan Brexit deal.

With Brexit protesters at the front door, Matt & Sam battled their way through the crowd, security and a flood of news reporters to reach the gala on the terrace with a scenic waterside view. The event was organised to celebrate the launch of the Parliamentary Review which featured R&D tax credit experts, randd uk alongside Theresa May and Helen Brand, CEO of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

A foreword from the prime minister outlining four “grand challenges” for economic growth and an introduction from the BBC’s Andrew Neil outlining a post-Brexit Britain begin this March’s release of The Parliamentary Review, which showcases areas of best practice evidenced by organisations from across Britain. randd uk’s article can be viewed here.

Lord Blunkett, co-chairman of The Parliamentary Review, has commented not only on the comprehensiveness and astuteness of The Review but also that, because he works in tandem with his co-chairman Lord Pickles, it helps to “foreground The Parliamentary’s Review non-partisan nature.”

“It was great to hear keynote speakers Julia Hartley-Brewer, Lord Pickles and Lord Blunkett as well as meeting other like-minded, industry professionals at the Parliamentary Review gala. I found the current political agenda during our visit [shown below] particularly fascinating, as the Brexit debate was happening live just down the hall!”
